Meizu MX4 Pro Unboxing and Quick Look

Meizu MX4 Pro was announced earlier today after a long list of leaks and rumors concerning this handset. Meizu MX4 Pro can’t exactly be called Meizu MX4’s successor considering the device was launched only 2 and a half month after the original MX4, but this handset is a beast of its own. It resembles the original MX4 a lot, but it is slightly bigger and it has that fingerprint scanner below the screen, which the original doesn’t have. Anyhow, let’s skim through its specs real quick and will then carry own with the rest of the article.

MX4 Pro features a 5.5-inch 2K (2560 x 1536) display along with 3GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16, 32 or 64GB of internal storage, depending on which unit you get of course. Samsung’s Exynos 5430 octa-core processor is here to power on this device along with Mali-T628 MP6 GPU which comes with this SoC. On the back of this handset, you’ll find Sony’s 20.7-megapixel IMX220 sensor while there’s a 5-megapixel sensor by OmniVision on the front of the device. Meizu is full of praise for these sensors and I’m looking forward to see how will they perform. Sony’s 20.7-megapixel sensor is a well-known camera sensor, it was used in the original MX4 as well. Anyhow, the device ships with Android 4.4 KitKat with Flyme OS on top of it and a 3350mAh battery which should be more than enough to get you through the day.

We were present at the event in China and got our hands on the device itself, you can check out the hands-on gallery here. Our editor Alex got a handset of his own and unboxed the new device, he also made sure to get it all on camera and as such you’ll find a bunch of images in a gallery down below. He also briefly compared it to the original Meizu MX4 in a couple of images which are also located down below. Check out the device and let us know what you think of it, do you think this is a good move by Meizu and is it the right time to launch a handset like this, only 2.5 months after the launch of the original Meizu MX4. I’m looking forward to hear from you.
