We already know that the Google Nexus 6 pre-orders are going live in Canada on November 18 by way of the Google Play Store – still no word on when the device will actually ship, but we do know that it will cost you $749 CDN for the 32GB version and the 64GB version will set you back $799 CDN. The unknown factor is when the carriers will to start offer the Nexus 6, but we finally see that Quebec’s regional carrier, Videotron, tweeted and is the first to announce that they will be carrying the Nexus 6 as ‘coming soon’…as usual, no pricing was mentioned. With Videotron’s announcement, it is only a matter of time before other carriers make their announcement, after all, they would like you to purchase your new Nexus 6 from them rather than the Google Play Store. With the holidays coming, this new Nexus 6 will certainly be on somebody’s gift list – have you been naughty or nice?
The new Nexus 6 is really a force to be reckoned with as Google made the switch to a 6-inch phablet-sized device and put in the best specifications around in just about every area possible. Made by Motorola, they took a Moto X, stretched it in every direction and put in flagship technology – but with that, comes a price that is much higher than the past Nexus smartphones have cost, making it hard for some loyal fans to swallow. Fortunately, Google made the decision to partner with the carriers to allow them to sell it directly to their customers…oh, you can still get it in the Google Play Store for the off-contract price, but if you are willing to commit to two-years, the carriers will give you a better deal. In The U.S., for instance, AT&T is offering it for $250…which is a little more than the $199 that Google announced it would cost, but the carriers can set their own price.
Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you will be picking up the new Nexus 6 and if you are happy about the many changes that were made to the Nexus smartphone – bigger and better specwise – as always, we would love to hear from you.
