The anticipation (and anger) concerning the actual availability of the new Nexus 6 smartphone is at an all-time frenzy. It seems as though Google and Motorola are just ‘playing with us,’ and frankly, we are tired of playing and want some action. In Canada, we know that the launch is eminent with all of the announcements starting to leak out – Google Play Store in Canada said they would be online with the Nexus 6 starting November 18. Bell, TELUS and Videotron threw their collective hats in the ring and let us know that they will be selling the Nexus 6…hitting their website “soon.”
As you can see from the screen shot below from our source, Rogers is now taking reservations via online – we had heard earlier that Rogers would only be offering the Midnight Blue and it looks like the screenshot confirms this. With Rogers it is not just a pre-order, but also a reservation with a $40 refundable deposit – it does weed out the curious and hopefully will guarantee those customers with deposits will get theirs before customers walking onto the brick and mortar store. No price is shown on the screenshot, but we assume it will be somewhere around $250 like the U.S. carriers are selling it for – or possibly $50 more, here in Canada.
We are really looking forward to the new Nexus 6 – a 6-inch Quad HD (QHD) AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and 493 pixels-per-inch (PPI). Motorola used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz and coupled this to 3GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory – there is no room for expansion. They added a 13MP auto-focus main camera with a dual-tone flash ring that encircles the camera lens, and then threw in optical image stabilization (OIS). To top it all off they chose a huge 3220mAh battery to power this monster.
Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you are happy about the changes from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 and if you will be pre-ordering one or picking one up from your carrier…as always, we would love to here from you.
