You might recall we shared a report which claimed Xiaomi is preparing a new device which might be Redmi Note’s successor. This handset will allegedly be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615, a 64-bit octa-core processor. 2GB of RAM will allegedly also be a part of this package as well as a 13-megapixel camera. 5.5-inch 1080p display will reportedly be its screen size and the device will ship with a 3500mAh battery. This will also be a dual-SIM capable device and will sport 4G LTE connectivity. Its price is sub-1499 Yuan ($245) according to the report. Well, Industry analysts, Pan Jiutang, had something else to when it comes to Xiaomi devices. Not only will the company reveal this Snapdragon 615-powered handset but we can also expect a Redmi 1S according to them. Pan Jiutang claims that the device will sport a 5-inch FHD 1080p display while also adding that the 5-inches is the most used screen size on smartphones today and a standard of sorts. Pan Jiutang also said that Xiaomi has more surprises for us which will be revealed in December. Keep in mind that Xiaomi’s CEO already announced the company is going to release a special version of Mi4, so it’s not exactly clear if Pan Jiutang refers to it, but it seems like we’re talking about a Redmi 1S successor here. I could be wrong though.
Xiaomi really means business, if they keep this up Samsung and some other OEMs will have serious problems keeping up with this Chinese manufacturer. Xiaomi is already number 1 OEM in China and has recently claimed the 3rd place globally, so there’s plenty to be afraid of it seems. The company hasn’t reached its true potential just yet though, they are planning to expand to Russia and are in the middle of opening up shop in South America. Devices like Redmi 1S and Redmi Note are selling like crazy and Xiaomi Mi4 is no exception, company’s flagship device is also in high demand, though that’s not all that surprising considering its price. It’s going to be interesting to see what Xiaomi has in store for us, it seems we’ll find out by the end of the year. Do you think that Xiaomi can overthrow Samsung and become world’s number 1 OEM in about a year or two?
