Xiaomi is really making waves as far as sales go. This company was founded in 2010 and is going to sell over 60 million units by the end of this year, while they sold “only” 19 million last year. Xiaomi has some big plans for the future and plans on huge expansions all over the world, primarily Latin America, South-East Asia, India and Russia. Takling about India, Xiaomi is very much active there already, they’re selling tons of devices via so called “Flash Sales” via Flipkart. India is not the only country where Xiaomi uses the “Flash Sales” strategy though, this company is well-known for this approach and Indonesia is also one of Xiaomi’s targets. The company has sold 10,000 units of their Redmi Note devices in Indonesia yesterday in only 40 seconds, which is quite an achievement of course. The device cost about $163 dollars. As a side note, the company has sold over 1 100 000 devices during Singles’ Day in China a couple of days ago.
This is not the only piece of news we have for you as far as Xiaomi is concerned though. It seems like Xiaomi is getting ready to release that very same phone, Redmi Note, to the Indian market. Xiaomi’s Vice President of International, Hugo Barra, announced via his Facebook profile that India is next in line to get the Redmi Note handset. He did not give us the exact dates when might that happen, but he did mention earlier that the company will release this handset somewhere by the end of November, so… it’s quite obvious we’ll see it launched by the end of this month. Xiaomi Redmi Note features a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz which comes with a Mali-450MP4 GPU for graphics processing. On the back of this handset you’ll find a 13-megapixel camera while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper located on the front side of the device. Xiaomi Redmi Note ships with Android 4.3 with MIUI 5 on top of it, though the device will receive an update to MIUI 6 soon (early next year I believe).
