Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Factory Images Now Available For Nexus 7, 9 and 10

Well folks, if you haven’t been paying attention over the last hour then you have missed some of the biggest news of the day. Literally less than one hour ago we reported that Google had pushed an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop to the AOSP. This update marks Lollipop’s first update and brings Android from 5.0 to Android 5.0.1. As mentioned it was only within the hour that we reported that the update had begun listing on the AOSP and this is how fast things can move with Google. It now seems that the factory images have started being added. Therefore, if you are running any of the devices about to be mentioned you should head over to the AOSP and grab yourself your device specific update so you can sideload it.

The factory images currently available are for the Nexus 7 2013 (razor), the Nexus 9 (volantis) the Nexus 10 (mantaray). So clearly a bit of a WiFi bias at the moment. All the images are listed under the newly added LRX22C build number and are ready to install. You can get all of the files by clicking here and heading over to the image page. As per usual, these images are to be sideloaded and as such you do need to have an open bootloader, ADB installed on your desktop and some basic knowledge of what you are doing.

If your device was not listed then dont worry. Google will be updating all the other eligible Nexus devices in due course. Based on the movement so far, that really won’t be that long. So who is still reading and who has already headed over to the download page? If you do flash any of the images make sure to let us know what the update is like and what is new. Happy flashing.
