Another Coolpad Dazen X7 (Aka Glass Phone) Image Popped Up

Coolpad is a well-known brand in China, but not so much outside of that Asian country. This smartphone manufacturer has been a frequent topic lately though, for several reasons. The company has first launched some sort of a security device called Platinum Dayton, after that we’ve seen first leak of the alleged Dazen X7 handset, which is reportedly a glass smartphone that the company is working on, more on that later. Yesterday we received some rather disturbing news regarding Coolpad’s handset. Security research company, Palo Alto Networks, uncovered a hidden backdoor security breach. This backdoor is dubbed “CoolReaper” and the company is allegedly able to perform tasks without notifying or asking the owner for permission, tasks like clearing device data, downloading Android applications, etc. This news is, of course, disturbing, and I’m sure many users will be somewhat worried by this.

That being said, we have some new information to share with you regarding the Dazen X7 handset I’ve mentioned in the first paragraph. First leak came from a Chinese pop star, and today’s render really looks completely different than the previously leaked device. As you can see in the image above this article, this handset actually has a chin down below, which makes total sense and it is basically impossible to build a phone without something of the sort these days. This is just a render though and it might not represent the final look of this device, but it’s something. It gives us a good idea of what the phone might look like and it reminds me of Sharp’s AQUOS Crystal handset, of course. It will be interesting to see what will Coolpad do as far as the back of this phone goes considering it is basically impossible to make the phone see through, the have to fit the internals somewhere, including the battery.

The source didn’t share any additional information with this image though, so we have no idea when to expect a device like this from Coolpad, but I’m sure we’ll get some additional material in the near future, so stay tuned. Would you be interested in a device like this?
