The ‘phone wars’…you have to wonder just how long they will continue with Verizon and AT&T both giving early warnings to their investors that there will be a gloomy look to their fourth quarters earnings and churn rates. This, of course, caused by all of the promotions being offered and those subscribers jumping ship to go to T-Mobile…even Sprint has offered to cut your Verizon bill in half if you come join their network. Some carriers, like T-Mobile seem to be in it for the long haul, while others, like Sprint are making their offer on a limited basis.
The latest carrier to jump on board is, surprisingly, Cricket Wireless, AT&T’s prepaid branding. They are offering a $100 reward in the form of an account credit if you jump from Boost, Cincinnati Bell, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile or Virgin Mobile and join the Cricket Wireless team. The promotion only goes through December 31, 2014, so there is not much time left. The details of the promotion from Cricket Wireless’ website are as follows:
“Offer ends 12/31/14. $100 account credit is available only to Boost, Cincinnati Bell, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Virgin Mobile customers who transfer their number to Cricket. Must purchase and activate a new line of service on a Basic, Smart or Pro rate plan. Limit one $100 account credit per qualifying line of service. Account credit applied approx 5 days before end of first month’s service period.
Account must be active on a qualifying rate plan to receive credit; suspended or cancelled accounts are not eligible to receive credit. Lines added to Group Save (multi-line) accounts 5 or fewer days before the end of a bill cycle will receive account credit during the following month of service. Credits have no cash value, are not redeemable for cash or any cash equivalent and are not transferable or refundable. Account credits are forfeited if your account is cancelled. May not be combined with other offers.”
Cricket Wireless is also offering a couple of smartphones for $0 with a $75 mail-in rebate for a Cricket Visa Promotional Card – the Nokia Lumia 635 normally costs $75 will cost you $0 after the rebate and the HTC Desire 510 with a regular price of $150 with an instant $75 off will also end up costing you $0 after the discount and mail-in rebate.
