Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 was launched not too long ago, just a couple of months ago, and while it launched with Android 4.4.4 KitKat it stands to reason that Samsung would want to move quickly with a Lollipop update for the device. We’ve seen devices from Samsung’s lineup running Android 5.0 a couple of times now, and it seems like the company is pretty far along in the development for an update. Now, SamMobile has an exclusive look at Android 5.0 Lollipop running on the pinnacle of Samsung’s lineup, the Galaxy Note 4.
As you might have imagined, this is still TouchWiz, there’s TouchWiz all over the place here, but then again it’s not a great idea to flip things upside down on customers that just got used to a device. Having said that, Samsung have updated a lot of key apps with design cues from Material Design, including the Calendar and Messages apps, but a good amount of them still don’t follow Google’s guidelines. The main features from 5.0 release of Android have made their way across, like the new notification shade that include quick settings and they are now more card like as we’ve seen on Nexus devices running Lollipop. We’re not sure how much longer Samsung users around the globe are going to have to wait, but with a build running as well as this, we’d imagine Samsung would release this before the end of the year. That’s perhaps just wishful thinking however, as networks do like to get their hands all over these upgrades to test them, so Galaxy Note 4 owners in the US could be in for a much longer wait than others.
