HTC has had a rather interesting year, the company didn’t sell as many devices as they wanted, but they managed to turn some profit due to cutting costs strategy the company applied this year. They do hope that will change in 2015 and that they’ll manage to sell more devices, because that’s the only way this Taiwan-based smartphone OEM will be able to keep turning profit quarter after quarter. HTC M9 “Hima” is definitely one of the most expected devices of 2015 and it popped up on AnTuTu yesterday revealing its great spec sheet. HTC has also sent out invites for their CES event next month, so many people assumed the company will announce the M9 at that event, but the event invitation was rather odd and suggested the device will be available in lots of colors, which is not exactly flagship-like.
The company has just released yet another teaser image on their Weibo (Chinese social network) page saying that they’ll unveil something at CES on January 6. The image also contains a caption “Always Desire more”, which clearly suggest they’ll announce another device in their Desire line of smartphone, which basically means we’ll see a mid-range handset announced at CES, not a high-end one. This is actually really interesting, because HTC USA did not send invites to mobile tech portals, we did not hear from them at all. This means that this definitely won’t be a flagship handset, and it also probably means that HTC won’t be holding an event, but will rather quickly release something or perhaps re-introduce one of their already unveiled devices, like the Desire Eye for example. We’ll just have to wait and see I guess, January 6 is the date.
We won’t be seeing the HTC One M9 launched at CES, that’s almost certain at this point. You’ll have to wait a bit more in order to see what will this company unveil as far as their flagship handset goes, I bet we’ll see it launched in March considering the One M8 launched in March 2014. Anyhow, what do you think HTC will unveil on January 6, will it be a new Desire handset or will they re-introduce something that’s already available out in the market?
