Everyone is interested in the personal tech market it seems these days. Even companies you don’t really expect to be so interested. Also, while the likes of many Chinese OEMs like OnePlus try to drive down the cost of devices and the market in general, there are those out there who don’t seem to really care. In contrast, these companies are happy to output their offerings and slap on a massive price tag in the meantime. For instance, we have already seen the likes of the MB Chronowing from HP and Michael Bastian. Not to mention we also got to see one of the most expensive android smartphones out there, the Gresso Regal. Neither of these seemed too bothered about competing on price.
Well to add to this exclusive club, it now seems Lamborghini have decided to launch their own smartphone. As to be expected with a company like this, it is well built with quality parts, but boy it is not cheap. Let’s get down to the specs though first. The Tauri 88 comes with a 5″ display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside, the device comes with 3GB RAM, 64GB internal storage and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor (clocking at 2.3GHz). In terms of cameras, the Tauri 88 comes with a 20MP rear camera and a front-facing 8MP shooter. Additional notable features include a massive 3,400mAh battery and running on Android 4.4 (KitKat). The device will be available in three ‘body’ colors (black, gold and steel) and five leather back covers (black, blue, red, orange and brown). Not forgetting, the devices comes with hand embroidered stitching and an overall premium appearance.
If you are liking the sound (and look) of the Tauri 88 then there are a few things to note. Firstly, this is a limited edition device and there will only be 1947 units available. Weird number right? Well, it is symbolic as it is the year of birth of the company founder, Tonino Lamborghini. In terms of price though, is what really matters and this one will be coming in at roughly the $6,000 marker.
