Lenovo's Upcoming Affordable Handset Will Be Revealed On December 5th

Lenovo is doing great as a company, not only their PC business, which is company’s main source of income, but their smartphone business as well. Lenovo’s numbers are rising and this Chinese OEM is now world’s fourth largest smartphone manufacturer. You might also recall Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility from Google a while back, which will boost this Chinese OEM even more considering it offers a way to some markets Lenovo wasn’t present on, before the purchase of course. Anyhow, Lenovo has released a bunch of smartphones over the last few months, most recently a new member of the Golden Warrior family, Note 8. The company seems to be getting ready to launch yet another affordable handset, at least according to our latest information.

This handset has already visited TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC) a while back and Lenovo’s Vice President, Zhang, has shared a launch image of the device along with its specifications. The device will launch on December 5th and it will be available via Jingdong Mall to Chinese consumers. This phone is a “K3” model, let’s check out its specifications. According to Mr. Zhang, this handset will feature  5-inch display along with 16GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core chip will power on this handset and the device itself will be made out of aluminum material and will come with dual speakers. He also mentioned that this device will sport 4G LTE connectivity, in case you were wondering. Mr. Zhang didn’t reveal much more than that, but we do have some additional information, courtesy of TENAA. According to a previous listing by TENAA, this handset will also feature 8GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM. K3 will come with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed and that 5-inch display will sport 720p resolution. 8 and 2-megapixel cameras will also be a part of the package.

We still don’t know how much will this handset cost, but I’m going to guess Lenovo will price it around 700-800 Yuan ($114-130). Either way, we’ll find out in a couple of days, December 5th is the date, so stay tuned if you’re interested.
