After some misleading, or should I say teasing, Meizu has announced that they will hold an event on December 23rd. This occurred a couple of days ago and Meizu is expected to launch their new smartphone line and quite possibly some additional goodies. Latest reports claim that not only smartphones will be a part of Meizu’s Blue Charm line, but a router, a television set and a smartband as well. It is still unknown whether Meizu plans to announce all these products on December 23rd or will some of them have to wait a while. What we assume the company will launch though are the Blue Charm and Blue Charm Note handsets which have been leaking like crazy lately.
Meizu is rather known for sending rather odd invitations for their device launches and this one isn’t any different it seems. Several Chinese media outlets received invitations for Meizu’s December 23rd event and to their surprise the iPhone 5C back cover was located inside the box. This seems like a rather weird approach, even if we consider this is Meizu we’re talking about. Both Meizu Blue Charm and Blue Charm Note leaked plenty of times thus far and one thing we do know for sure, the Blue Charm line will be available in a variety of colors and I believe that this iPhone 5C invitation is supposed to reaffirm that fact. It remains to be seen what will Meizu announce on December 23rd, but I believe these two handsets are a safe bet. Meizu Blue Charm popped up on GFXBench recently and according to that listing, this handset will sport a 4.6-inch 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16GB of internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6752 SoC, a 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz will power on this device with Mali T760 GPU for graphics rendering. On the back of this handset, you’ll be able to find a 13-megapixel camera and this will allegedly also be a dual-SIM device. Meizu Blue Charm Note, on the other hand, is said to sport the exact same specs, but its screen will be somewhat bigger (5.5-inches).
