If you’re in the United Kingdom and you’re wanting to pick up the Motorola Moto Hint and Motorola Power Pack Micro, mark your Google Calendars with the 15th December, because this is when these two accessories go on sale. Now, these two accessories are not only for Motorola handsets and if you’ve never heard of them, let me introduce the two. The first is the Moto Hint, which is a small, discrete Bluetooth earbud that can be used as a hands-free kit, but also to trigger voice commands. Like, the Moto X, the Hint has an always-on voice processor, so it’s constantly listening out for your voice. By small, unless you know it’s there and what to look for, it’s tiny. With the Hint paired up to the Moto X you can naturally ask it – your device collective – something and it’ll answer. The device automatically routes calls to itself or back to the smartphone depending if you’re wearing it or not and the case comes with a rechargeable battery so it can charge the Hint when it’s being kept here. Currently, the voice functionality takes its toll on the battery (it needs recharging far more frequently) but the charger case goes a long way to helping. The Hint will be available for £99.99 which is quite a lot for a Bluetooth headset, but like I say, it’s tiny and has some cool functionality.
The Moto Power Pack Micro is a different device and it’s also much cheaper at £29.99. This is a small – 1,500 mAh – capacity rechargeable charger for any and all of your devices that have a MicroUSB slot. In the context of most devices, 1,500 mAh won’t give your device a full charge, but what it will do is give your smartphone enough power to get you home. I’ve used something like this (slightly smaller capacity) for a while now and it’s ideal for when I’m on the train and the power socket doesn’t work, but I want to make a couple of calls when I’m back in my home city. However, the Power Pack Micro has another utility: it’s designed to be kept on a key ring and it differentiates itself by including Bluetooth connectivity, so it’ll warn you when you’re out of range of your key fob and can help you locate it.
I’m pleased to see Motorola releasing accessories into the UK market because I’d like to think that it’s still an important market for Motorola to conqueror. Their accessories are good quality and whilst they’re expensive, they’re also beautifully made (especially the Hint). What do our readers think? Do you have a Hint or a Power Pack Micro? If so, what do you think to it? Let us know in the comments below.
