We told you recently that Samsung is getting ready to launch the Galaxy A5 in South Korea, and yesterday some press material leaked revealing the new Galaxy Grand Max which we haven’t seen thus far. The report also stated that both of these devices, along with the Galaxy A7, will be released in South Korea soon. Well, today we have some new info regarding this launch coming our way from Korea, so, let’s see what’s what.
According to a Korean portal Ruliweb, Samsung will launch the Galaxy A7 handset on January 14 alongside the Galaxy A5, keep in mind that the Galaxy A5 is already available in select parts of the world. We’ve already covered both of these devices at length, but let’s check out their specs once again. Galaxy A7 is the more powerful of the two, this handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage (expandable via MicroSD card). This thing is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and it ships with a 2,500mAh battery. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this device with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it, of course. 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of this device, while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter available on the front side of this handset. Galaxy A7 measures 150.9 x 75.9 x 6.3mm and weighs 133 grams.
The Galaxy A5, on the other hand, comes sporting a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 SoC, a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz is powering on this handset and this device ships with a 2,300mAh battery. 13 and 5-megapixel snappers are available on this device, just like on the Galaxy A7. Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz on top comes pre-installed on this device as well.
Galaxy A7 will be released in China as well, not only Korea, but it remains to be seen if Samsung intends to offer this device outside of Asia, or will it stay limited to that Asian countries. Do you like either of these devices, do you think Samsung is moving in the right direction?
