Supposed Photos Of Sony's Xperia E4 Budget Smartphone Leak Online

Supposedly leaked photos of the upcoming Sony Xperia E4 have popped up on the web, showing off a couple of angles of the device and displaying one with a screenshot of some benchmarks that had been ran on it. The Xperia E4 is supposed to be an upcoming budget minded smartphone with a near $200 price point, and is believed to get an unveiling at Mobile World Congress next year which will be around the end of February. The device while not displaying the Sony branded logo on the top like we see with their other devices, does hold the Sony style navigation buttons at the bottom in one of the screenshots as well as the Sony UI style status bar icons, and we see the power button that Sony uses on the side of their device in one of the others.

In addition to being a device that will cost quite a bit less than some of Sony’s high end flagships, the Xperia E4 is said to be launching with Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat on board and rumored to be getting the upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop sometime in the first half of 2015. Even if it does get lollipop, the first half of the year could be all the way back to June or July. However, depending on when this device launches, it could receive the software upgrade soon after if Sony releases it closer to the time of the Android 5.0 update. With the upgrade to Lollipop, the Xperia E4 would be joining other devices on Sony’s list that are scheduled to get the latest Android version, including the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact(Sony’s most recent flagship and compact version smartphones)among others.

The Xperia E4 is slated to be a device that holds a single SIM although there is supposed to be a dual-SIM model that will be released as well. As far as device specs go, what’s being rumored at this point is a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 540 x 960,(qHD)and it could be powered by a MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor that’s clocked at 1.3GHz, with a Mali-400 MP4 GPU handling the graphics. Unlike Sony’s high end devices, this device would follow suit with some of the other less expensive phones that Sony produces and come with a plastic backing. Mobile World Congress isn’t too far away, so if you like the sound of the Xperia E4 it won’t be long before you know more about it. In addition to these leaks, the specs for the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z4 Ultra were reported to leak just earlier this morning.
