T-Mobile 'Refer A Friend' For Unlimited Data To End On December 9th

August seems long a very long time ago now. Since then there have been a whole wealth of announcements, releases, deals and fiascos. However, if you can cast your mind beyond all that has happened since then and back to August, then you may remember T-Mobile launched a ‘limited time’ deal where if you referred a friend, both you and the friend would receive unlimited data for twelve months for free. This was a response at the time to Sprint lowering their prices. Well, since August the promotion has been running consistently and as such you might have thought that it was not so much a limited time deal anymore. However, that is not the case and the deal is about to come to an end.

In fact, the deal was supposed to wrap up yesterday. According to reports, a memo sent to T-Mobile employees advises that the deal would conclude on December 3rd. Meaning customers had until yesterday to sign up and claim the year’s worth of free data. This was reportedly (according to the memo) being ended to make way for “new and exciting programs”. A new Christmas promotion most likely. The very latest on this story is that the once limited time deal which was supposed to end yesterday has been extended again. Now, the promotion is due to end on December 9th. So customers have until next Tuesday to sign up for this deal.

If you are planning on taking advantage of this one then you might want to do it by Tuesday. Although the deal has been extended again (and could be again), either way it does seem (for the bigger picture) that it is ending. If you do take advantage than a couple of points to remember are that those who refer must register via the T-Mobile website prior to referring someone. The person who is referred must register via the T-Mobile site within 30 days of the activation for both to receive the credit. Once both have registered, both users will get the unlimited data (which equates to $30 a month each) for twelve months free of charge. Will you be taking the deal before it expires? Are you already using the free unlimited data? Let us know.
