Meizu’s affordable handsets rumors and leaks have been going around for a long time now, and ever since Meizu announced their December 23rd event leaks are even more frequent. Anyhow, the company itself already hinted that they’ll introduce an extremely affordable and yet powerful device on said that, but latest reports also claim that we might be talking about 2 devices, not just one. Meizu Blue Charm and Blue Charm Note are expected to see the light of day at that event, but Meizu might also release some additional products at their event. Router, television set and a smartband are all said to be launched by Meizu as part of their Blue Charm line, though we don’t know when.
Three new renders surfaced in China and the report claims this is the Meizu Blue Charm S520 handset which will be launched in about a week. These renders actually resemble a whole lot to Meizu MX4 and that surprises me a bit. Meizu’s Blue Charm line is supposed to be an extremely affordable line for “young people”, according to Meizu’s VP, and these renders actually look kind of refined and high-end. I find it hard to believe this is actually the Blue Charm handset, but if Meizu manages to ship this design in multiple colors and keep the leaked specs and pricing intact, this handset will sell like crazy.
Talking about specs, according to GFXBench listing, Meizu Blue Charm will feature a 4.6-inch 1080p display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage. MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz is said to power on this thing along with Mali T760 GPU. 13-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this handset according to the listing and this will also be a dual-SIM device. This device is rumored to cost 799 ($129) or 999 Yuan ($162), both of these price points are really low and I don’t think Meizu will go wrong either way, though I’d prefer the lower price point of course. December 23rd is only about a week away and I’m sure we’ll see more leaked material before then, stay tuned.
UPDATE: It turns these renders belong to Malata S520, not Meizu. Malata S520 is in fact a Meizu MX4 clone which will ship with a MT6732 64-bit processor manufactured by MediaTek and will sport LTE connectivity as well as Dua-SIM support. This handset will also feature a 13-megapixel camera on the back along with dual-LED flash and as you can see it looks just like Meizu MX4. Update source: GizChina
