Interested In Xiaomi's Upcoming Event? This Is Where You Can Watch It Live

Xiaomi enjoyed great success last year, the company managed to sell 61 million handsets last year, while they planned to reach the 60 million mark. They obviously managed to do that and surprised many people all around the world. This China-based company sold only 19 million devices in 2013, which basically means that they sold three times as many handsets a year later, which is just staggering. The company is planning to move 100 million smartphones this year, it will be interesting to see if they can actually pull this off.

This Chinese smartphone vendor will release their new flagship handset on January 15, as company’s CEO Lei Jun confirmed recently. The event will take place in Beijing, and the company will livestream it in collaboration with Youku Tudou, which is actually the first time Xiaomi has organised a live streaming of their launch event, believe it or not. If you’re interested in watching it live, you’ll need to tune in on January 15 at 2PM (Beijing time, GMT+8). The link to the event will appear on Xiaomi’s homepage, official Weibo account, and on Youku Tudou. The livestream will also be hosted on Mi Singapore, where an English-language discussion will take place as well next to this livestream which will be in Chinese, so if you’re interested in live debating the launch, hit the link above when the time comes and tune in.

Xiaomi will quite probably announce the Redmi Note 2 handset on that event, but a second device is a possibility. Xiaomi has released a ton of teasers lately, and it seems like we won’t be seeing the Mi5 launched tomorrow, but nothing is for certain. Xiaomi Mi4S, Mi5, Mi5 Plus, Redmi Note 2 and the extremely affordable Leadcore-powered handset have all been mentioned via various leaks and reports recently, it remains to be seen what will this Chinese smartphone manufacturer launch in the end. You can however expect 1-2 handsets, one of which will definitely be a high-end device. Xiaomi might also launch the new version of Mi TV and Mi Pad at that event, but we haven’t heard much about that.

Are you excited? Do you own the Mi4 / Redmi Note or did you have a chance to mess around with either of those devices? Let us know what you think, we’d love to hear from you, as always.
