First Reseller Gets Its Hands On The Redmi 2, The Device Is Now Available Internationally

Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi 1S successor on January first, the phone is called the Redmi 2 and it costs only 699 Yuan ($110). That is the phone’s price in China though, it’s extremely cheap and it offers a lot for the price. It was to be expected that the phone will cost more once the retailers get their hands on it, and it seems like that just happened. I didn’t expect retailers to offer this device internationally that fast, but it looks like the Redmi 2’s listings have commenced.

This handset got listed by a Chinese reseller, SPEmall, it is not only listed but available as well. The phone is available in White only for now though, and it will cost you $154.99 should you choose to purchase it. The phone will hit India, Singapore and Malaysia later this year, but for those living outside of those regions, buying through a reseller might be the only way to get your hands on the device. The price is higher, but I’d argue that this device is more than worth it, even with a price like this is more than a good choice considering what it has to offer.

The Redmi 2 features a 4.7-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage (expandable via microSD card up to 32GB). The device is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz which comes with an Adreno 306 GPU for graphics processing. 8-megapixel camera and an LED flash are located at the back of this device, while a 2-megapixel snapper is available on the front side of this device. The handset ships with Android 4.4 KitKat with Xiaomi’s MIUI 6 on top of it and a 2,200mAh battery is a part of this package as well. This is a dual-SIM, dual-4G handset and it measures 134 — 67.2 — 9.4mm, while it weighs 133 grams. If you want to check out its full specifications, visit our specs article.
