Yesterday was a big day for Xiaomi, the company has held their press conference in Beijing and announced four new products, including two new Xiaomi smartphones. Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro are company’s new flagship handsets, these are phablets actually, they both sport a huge 5.7-inch display. Xiaomi has also announced the Mi Box Mini and Mi Headphones. We’ve covered each of these devices at length at launch yesterday, but some new information just popped up.
It seems like someone ran AnTuTu benchmark app on the Xiaomi Mi Note at yesterday’s event, so let’s see how it fares against other handsets. The Mi Note scored 46.714 points overall, and is placed below the Meizu MX4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on the list. We’re talking about different chips here though, so keep that in mind. The Mi Note is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 chip, and it beat the OnePlus One, which is powered by that very same processor. The Mi Note placed above the HTC One M8, Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and company’s very own Mi4. Some of you might say it’s pointless comparing benchmark results, but that gives you a slight idea of how powerful a device is, even though it really doesn’t have to translate into real, everyday performance, of course. That being said, every single device, that is listed here, is more than powerful enough to handle everything you throw at it. It would be nice to see the results for the beastly Mi Note Pro which is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 810 octa-core chip, I hope that benchmark will pop up soon as well.
Regarding the specs of the Mi Note, this handset features a 5.7-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display along with 3GB of RAM and 16 or 64GB of internal storage. It is powered by the aforementioned Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and it ships with a 3,000mAh battery. 13-megapixel (Sony IMX214 BSI) camera is located at the back of this device, and a 4-megapixel (2um) shooter is available up front.
