We already noted today that this week is the week of Meizu and that is because they are doing a launch this week on January 28th. One of the things expected to be unveiled was the Meizu M1 Mini. It was also noted last week that the event was expected to showcase a number of other products Meizu have in the pipeline and especially those updates with the connected industry. Meizu recently announced a partnership with Haier (Chinese white goods manufacturer) which further intensified the notion of smart home goods might be on the way.
Following on from this, this morning we got to see a couple of teasers sent out by the company. These were in the form of teaser ads which clearly suggested that they were also going announce some form of partnership or integration of services from the likes of AKG, Opera (the browser guys) and Pei Wo (a social chat app). Again, no details were provided beyond the teasers. Well, to go back to the original speculation that Meizu are planning on unveiling the Meizu M1 Mini, this has now all been but confirmed.
Today, a leaked images of the Meizu M1 Mini has become available. If that was not enough of a confirmation that the device is about to land, then the source of the link surely will convince you. Interestingly, the leak came from the Meizu VP, Li Nan. As such, it can only be so loosely referred to as a ‘leak’ and literally stops short of an official confirmation. Nan ‘leaked’ the image on his Weibo account a short while ago. So what will be on offer? Well, this still remains a mystery as there are no firm details on the specifications. That said, from the image you can see that the device will be available in peppermint blue, will come with a single LED flash and has the same volume control as the Meizu M1 Note. This last point is particularly important as the Meizu M1 Mini is thought to be a smaller version of the Note. As such the other rumored specifications include a 5″ 1080p display and an octa-core processor. Either way, it does look like we’ll be seeing the Meizu M1 Mini at the launch event in the next few days
