Motorola Moto X (2014) Pricing To Start At 3,699 Yuan ($593) In China According To The Latest Leak

Ever since Lenovo purchased Motorola Mobility it was safe to assume that Motorola-branded products will make an appearance in China. The company has confirmed that a while back and we were all waiting for a date when the devices will be available, after some teasing on Motorola’s part, they announced that the press conference will be held on January 26 in Beijing’s Convention Center. We knew that the company will announce the Moto G (2014), Moto X (2014) and the Moto X Pro (which is essentially a Nexus 6 hardware). What we didn’t know though, was the price of each of these handsets.

Well, part of the pricing information just leaked in China, let’s see what’s what. The available leak reveals the price of Motorola Moto X only, unfortunately. The 16GB version of this device with an ordinary shell / back cover will cost 3,699 Yuan ($593) according to this leak, while the 32GB model sporting leather, wood or bamboo back cover will set you back 3,999 Yuan ($642). Various back cover colors will be available for the handset, and this information popped up on Jingdong Mall, one of China’s biggest retailers. The Moto X will support both 3G and 4G bands of all three major Chinese carriers, which is a good thing, but this pricing is… well, steep. It was to be expected that the phone will be somewhat more expensive than it is elsewhere though. Anyone interested in purchasing a copy despite the price?

Motorola Moto X (2014) features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16 or  32GB of internal storage. This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz which comes with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of this thing along with a dual-LED flash, while a 2-megapixel snapper is available up front. 2,300mAh non-removable battery ships with this device. The Moto X measures 140.8 x 72.4 x 10mm and it weighs 144 grams.
