Report: Xiaomi Mi4 Will Launch In India On January 28

Xiaomi has held a press conference yesterday where the company announced four new devices. Two out of those four are company’s newest flagship smartphones, well, phablets actually. Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro are great additions to Xiaomi’s lineup and we’ve already covered those devices at length. We’re here to talk about another Xiaomi device, which has been around for a while now, the Xiaomi Mi4. This was company’s flagship device until the two aforementioned Mi Note devices didn’t launch yesterday. This is still a high-end smartphone, no doubt about it, it is a smaller version of a Mi Note in a way.

The Mi4 has been around for about half a year now, well, in China, it’s been available for purchase worldwide through resellers only. Reports have been claiming that the device will launch in India soon, but that hasn’t happened just yet. Another report claims that the phone will launch on in India on January 28 and that it will be available exclusively on Flipkart, which isn’t exactly a surprise. The price, on the other hand, wasn’t mentioned in this report and we have no idea how much will this thing cost once it launches, but it will be affordable, I can tell you that much. I have no doubt we’ll get some additional info before it launches, so stay tuned for that.

This handset features a 5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display along with 3GB of RAM and 16 or 64GB of non-expandable internal storage. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU which is here for graphics. Xiaomi Mi4 comes with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a dual-LED flash, while there’s a 8-megapixel shooter located on the front of the device. The Mi4 comes with Android 4.4.3 KitKat pre-installed on top of which you’ll find company’s very own MIUI OS. Xiaomi measures 139.2 x 68.5 x 8.9mm and weighs 149 grams. This handset comes sporting 4G LTE connectivity and ships with a non-removable 3080mAh battery.

For those of you who live in India, will you consider purchasing this thing once it becomes available? How many of you own this device already, no matter if you live in India or not?
