Samsung fans in India rejoice, Samsung has launched a total of 4 new handset in India today. We’ve already covered the Galaxy A3 and A5 launch, and it’s time to cover the other two handset that this Korean giant launched in India. Galaxy E5 and E7 are the other two handset which landed in India today, these are a part of Samsung’s mid-range “E” line of smartphones. These handsets are actually quite solid as far as specifications go, so, let’s check out what they have to offer.
Let’s start with the cheaper of the two, the Galaxy E5. This handset features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED display along with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card. This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 SoC, a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz which comes with an Adreno 306 GPU for graphics processing. As far as cameras are concerned, this handset features 8 and 5-megapixel shooters on its back and front side, respectively. LED flash is also located at the back of this handset, of course. This is a hybrid dual-SIM handset, this actually means that the second slot can be used as a microSD slot as well. This is a 3G HSPA+ handset and it ships with a 2,400mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it. This handset measures 141.6 x 70.2 x 7.3mm.
The Galaxy E7, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage (also expandable via microSD card up to 64GB). This device sports the same processor, front-facing camera, 3G HSPA+ connectivity, hybrid dual-SIM capability, Android version and software as the Galaxy E5. It does, however, has a more powerful 13-megapixel shooter on the back and a 2,900mAh battery on the inside. 151.3 x 77.2 x 7.3mm are the Galaxy E7’s measurements.
The Galaxy E5 comes in Black, White and Brown, while the Galaxy E7 will be available in Black, White and Blue color options. These two handsets are priced at Rs. 19,300 and Rs. 23,000, respectively. They’ll be available for purchase on January 20th in India, and will come with 2GB of 3G data per month for 2 months for Vodafone customers.
