Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015 is heating up and we’re getting all sorts of interesting stuff to look at. We’ve already covered all sorts of stuff from CES, and now we’re here to talk to you about Urbanears, a Sweden-based company which manufactures headphones and all sorts of other accessories. The company has released some new products at CES including a set of headphones and some accessories we’re going to take a look at.
Let’s cover the company’s newest headphones first. The Plattan ADV Wireless headphones are the first Bluetooth headphones in the Urbanears lineup. This product comes with a built-in microphone and a swipe interface on the ear cup. You’ll get a solid 8-hour playtime before you need to recharge these headphones and they come with a machine washable headband, collapsible structure, ZoundPlug and an equalizer in order to let you tune the sound you see fit. The aforementioned ear cups let you answer calls, adjust volume and switch tracks, which is actually extremely convenient when you think about it. There’s also a small LED light indicator on the ear cup which shows you the battery status as well as the status of your bluetooth connection. These headphones come with a support for Bluetooth 4.0 and you re-charge them via the micro-USB cable which ships with these headphones.
As far as their design goes, these headphones actually offer ergonomic custom fit function through the 3D-hinge which is included. The ear cushions are really soft according to the company and won’t bother you one bit. ZoundPlug functionality lets you instantly share music and the aforementioned washable headband can be easily removed and attached thanks to the snap-in-place magnets which are included. These headphones will be available on June 2, 2015 for $100 directly from urbanears.com or from select retailers all over the world.
This is not all by Urbanears as far as CES goes though, not by a long shot. The company has announced a couple of accessories which will reach the market throughout 2015. The first accessory to hit the stores is the Thunderous Lightning Cable which comes in two variants, one with the lightning port connection for Apple’s devices and the other one with the micro USB connection for other handsets, including Android ones. This cable is actually reinforced with a protective metal shield in order to maximize its durability. The CableLoop feature bends 180-degrees and it’s extremely portable, it’s great if you want to avoid cable tangling headaches. These accessories will be available starting March 24th in select retailers worldwide and directly from urbanears.com.
