Xiaomi has announced four new devices at the company’s press conference yesterday, but the two new Mi Note smartphones definitely took the spotlight. Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro devices are great additions to Xiaomi’s lineup and considering their looks, specifications and pricing, I have no doubt they’ll sell like hotcakes in China. It has been confirmed that both of these devices will be available for pre-order in China on January 20, and will go on sale on January 27. That being said, the Mi Note handset just got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC).
Let’s go over its specifications real quick. Xiaomi Mi Note features a 5.7-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display along with 3GB of RAM and 16 or 64GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz is powering on this handset along with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics rendering. 13-megapixel camera (Sony’s IMX214 BSI sensor) can be found on the back of this device and is flanked by a dual-LED, dual tone flash. 4-megapixel shooter (like the one that can be found in the HTC One, 2um pixel size) is available on the front side of this device. 3,000mAh battery comes with this device along with Android 4.4.4 KitKat with MIUI 6 on top of it. 155.1 x 77.6 x 6.95mm are the measurements of both the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro, and both of these handsets weight 161 grams. Now for the fun part, it seems like this handset comes with both FDD-LTE and TD-LTE support, which is great, this will make it far more appealing for users outside of China.
The Mi Note will be available in 16 and 64GB variants and will cost 2,299 Yuan ($371) and 2,799 Yuan ($451) respectively. This handset is expected to be available for pre-order on January 20, and will probably be available for purchase on January 27, but that hasn’t been officially confirmed just yet. The Mi Note Pro variant will quite probably launch a bit later (even though previous reports claimed both devices will be available at the same time), which is to be expected considering it sports the Snapdragon 810 processor. Anyhow, are you interested in getting either of these handsets?
