ZTE is another one of those names some people might not have heard much about or seen much from. The reason you do hear so much about ZTE is that they are another Chinese company which seems to be doing quite well for themselves. Especially, if you measure by the number of devices they release. We already have seen that they are planning to launch the next generation of their Nubia range in the form of the Nubia Z9 and this is likely to land in the early part of this year. On top of that, we also heard about back in December about another device which was making the ZTE rounds. This one was the ZTE Q7 and seemed to all purposes, to be a mid-range device.
Well, now it seems that the Q7 and the Nubia Z9 might not be the only ZTE devices about to land. An online retailer, GearBest, has started listing the ‘ZTE Blade S6’ which actually seems rather similar to the already mentioned Q7. The S6 reportedly comes with a 5″ screen, which is one of the main differences between the S6 and the Q7 which comes with a larger 5.5″ screen. Other than that, the S6 is 4G compatible and running on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box. Now, as well as the screen size difference there does also seem to be a difference with the front camera, which on the Q7 comes with a dual-LED flash, while the S6 has only a single-LED flash. Those two difference aside, the two devices look very much alike. In fact, a little too much alike.
This means that this could actually be the same device. The Q7 is reportedly a little too similar to the iPhone 6 and as such it is possible the Blade S6 is a non-China version of the Q7. This would account for some of the differences between the two devices like the size of the display. Alternatively, this could be an entirely different device coming from ZTE, which does seem strange based on how similar they both look. Either way, the GearBest listing (source link below) is stating that the ZTE Blade S6 will be available for pre-order from January 29th.
