Last year, ZTE announced the Z Max and X Max for T-Mobile and Cricket respectively. They are both great smartphones from ZTE, especially when you take in the price point. ZTE is back here at CES in Las Vegas announcing a new addition to the X Max lineup, and that’s the X Max+. As you could probably figure out from the name of the device, it is a larger device. While the X Max was already a 5.7-inch device, they somehow needed a larger one.
The ZTE X Max+ has a 6-inch 720p display. Along with a 13MP camera on the back. Other internals include a Qualcomm processor with Quick Charge 1.0 (presumably the Snapdragon 400, but ZTE isn’t being specific yet). It also sports 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a massive 3200mAh battery. Just for reference, the Nexus 6 has a 6-inch QHD display with a 3220mAh battery. So this one should give you plenty of battery life with it’s 720p display. There’s also a microSD card slot for those looking for more storage space. Cameras aren’t fancy, but we do have a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera on the ZTE X Max+. The ZTE X Max+ is coming to Cricket on January 9th, and it’ll cost you just $199. That’s the off-contract price seeing as Cricket is a prepaid carrier. There’s no contracts here.

At ZTE’s event last fall for the ZTE Z Max, they announced that they are #2 in prepaid here in the US, and it looks like they are wanting to keep that spot. Although we’d really love to see their high-end smartphones that are announced and sold over in China. This is still a great start for ZTE, especially at just $199.
