Whether you are new or a veteran to the customization world there can be a lot of new features, apps and themes to choose from. At times, a little too much. With that in mind, here we will try and bring you a quick run-down of all the best custom options we have seen doing the rounds over the last week. If you have any of your own, you want us to check out then make sure to let us know.
MultiROM ported for the Sony Xperia Z2 and Z3
Well, MultiROM is not a new feature and many of you will already know about it. For those that don’t though, MultiROM allows users to be able to multiboot various different ROMs without having to constantly flash, unflash and reflash. As such, this is certainly a tool to have in your customization toolbox. The latest from MultiROM is that it is now available to install on both the Sony Xperia Z2 and the Xperia Z3. Wake Lock By Volume Key
If for whatever reason (it’s broken, don’t want to overuse etc) you are not so keen on using your power button as a wake lock then with this handy little app, you can use your volume keys as the wake lock buttons. Nice, simple and lightweight app. Click the link below to find out more.
Dark Material Music Player
If you are into your music and want a more customized music player then maybe give this new offering a try. This music player is the music player ported over from CM12 and as the name suggests comes with a highly Dark Material theme overlaid. It looks pretty good and will fit in nicely with a dark Material Deisgn theme you have going on. Click the link below to find out more.
TouchWiz Nadia Kernel For Samsung Galaxy Note 4
If you are looking for a new kernel to speed up your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 then maybe you should give Nadia Kernel a try. However, this is only for the Note 4 and only for SM-N910F, SM-N910G and SM-N910W8 variants. If you don’t know what a kernel is for or don’t have a Note 4, then move along people, nothing to see here. Otherwise, click the source link below.
Theme: CM12 Blue Hydra
Running CyanogenMod or any other ROM which uses CM Themes? If the answer is yes then you have a ton of theme choices to choose from. However, to highlight one option quickly, Blue Hydra by markbencze looks pretty good. The theme is available in both a lite (free) and donate (paid) version. The images above are from the paid version which you can get via the Play Store and currently priced at $1.37. Click here to head over to XDA to read the thread or download the lite version to try for free. Alternative, support the developer and hit the link below.
Paranoid Android Boot Animation
Boot animations are all the rage at the moment. Not only can they be a badge of honor for what manufacturer or carrier you use, but also for what ROM you are running. If you are of the Paranoid Android (PA) persuasion then you might want to check out this sweet PA boot animation by ashyam95. Click the link below to download or see the thread.
Paranoid Android Boot Animation
Boot Animation Collection
If you are not really a PA fan but looking for a boot animation then finishing up the list this week is a collection of over 100 boot animations provided by Ace38. Now, the dev actually notes that these were originally designed to be live wallpapers and as such can be used as either a wallpaper or a boot animation. Either way, the list is quite substantial with a nice emphasis on games and movies. As such there are offerings from Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Breaking Bad and Spiderman, to name a few. Hit the link up below for more info.
So there you go, a quick rundown of what we liked this week from the customization world. If you see any themes, ROMs, apps or custom features that you liked over next week then let us know and we might be able to include it in our next list.
