Samsung is getting ready to announce the company’s new flagship at MWC in Barcelona on March 1st. The company has already scheduled their Unpacked event which will be held at 6:30pm (local time) on said date, and we’re expecting to see the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge announced there. We’ve been seeing a ton of rumors and leaks over the last couple of weeks, well, even months. As we’re waiting for this Korean tech giant to announce their newest smartphone offerings, the company is updating their devices all over the world. The Exynos variant of the Galaxy Note 4 started receiving Android Lollipop earlier this week, and now the Snapdragon variant is getting some Lollipop love too.
The company has started pushing Android Lollipop updated to the Snapdragon variant of their Galaxy Note 4 phablet. The SM-N910F model has started receiving the update in Germany, it is available on Samsung Kies and will be available OTA soon. This is not the only Samsung-branded device that is getting Android Lollipop though, the LTE variant of the Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) is also getting the update as we speak. This handset is not limited to Germany though, the update is rolling out all over the place. The basic variant of the device started getting the update about two weeks ago, and it’s time for the LTE model to get it as well it seems. Samsung has always been good at keeping their devices updated compared to other manufacturers which skin their devices, so this is not much of a surprise. This Korea-based company has even announced that the Galaxy Note 2 is going to get the Lollipop update, which is great considering that we’re talking about a phablet which was announced way back in 2012.
As always, it might take some time until your device gets the OTA notification for either of the aforementioned updates. You can always try updating via KIES or check if the update is available OTA manually by going into “Settings”, then tapping the “About Phone” and selecting the “Software Update” menu. That being said, let us know if your Samsung device got updated recently.
