Canadian LG G3 Users Begin Receiving Lollipop Update

There are not many things worse (in the techno geek world) than waiting for the jump from one operating system to another – especially the jump from Android KitKat to the new and vastly improved Android Lollipop.  LG has been working hard to get Lollipop to its loyal G3 owners and it looks like that day has arrived as Android 5.0 is rolling out across all carriers in Canada today.

LG Canada’s Eunice Lee told our source in an email that “Bringing the new Lollipop Android update to LG G3 users has been a top priority for us.  LG is committed to providing our customers with the best mobile experience, and the Lollipop upgrade is a key part of that innovative experience.  The new Android OS brings a refreshed interface to the LG G3 that complements its existing design and enhances the device’s functionality.  We believe that our customers will find great value in the Lollipop upgrade.”

Our source was informed that Rogers and Bell users have already begun receiving notifications regarding the update.  However, it should also be hitting TELUS, Fido, MTS, SaskTel and Videotron users as well.  As these OTA updates generally roll out, you can always do a force check on your LG G3 by going to Menu–>Settings–>About device–>Software update–>Update, and it should pick it up for you right away…download and enjoy the many benefits that Android 5.0 Lollipop provides.

The new Material Design that Android has been pushing, includes “a bold, colorful and responsive UI design for consistent, intuitive experiences across all of your devices.”  It is designed to give you a natural, intuitive response with realistic shadows and new vivid colors, typography and an edge-to-edge design to help the user focus their attention in just the right areas.  There will be a new control over notifications – get interrupted only when you want to be – and the ability to view and respond to messages directly from you lock screen.  With Lollipop, incoming calls will not interrupt what you are currently doing – answer it or just keep doing whatever it is you were doing.  Improved battery saving features extends device use by up to 90 minutes and now receive accurate times until your device is fully charged and how much time is left on a current charge.  New security features protects your personal information from other users.

Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you received your Lollipop update and how you like it…as always, we would love to hear from you.
