I don’t know if you recall, but HTC’s Mo Versi tweeted out that T-Mobile customers who own the HTC One (M8) handset will start receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop update on February 9th. Well, it seems like that part was true, the update is now live and some users already installed it on their handsets. The size of this update is 632MB, and in case you’d like to get it on your device, go to “Settings” and then located “System Update” and click “Check Now”. Your device will automatically let you know if the update is available, this procedure is required only if you don’t have that option enabled on your handset.
The HTC One (M8) Lollipop update will bring a ton of performance updates on your device along with some design changes in Sense. Keep in mind that this update doesn’t bring forth Sense 7.0 though, so don’t expect that many changes as far as the design goes. You will get the new “Recent Apps” look which is now called “Overview”, some material design components, your device will run on ART (Android Runtime) instead of Dalvik, etc. In case you’d like to know more about the Android Lollipop update itself, visit our Lollipop OS page. The Android Lollipop update is expected to land on Sprint this Friday and it could take some time until it starts rolling out for Verizon and AT&T customers. We still don’t have any information as far as Verizon goes, and the AT&T variant of the device was recently just updated to Android 4.4.4 KitKat, so I guess it will take some time until it gets updated to Lollipop.
