HTC’s new and upcoming flagship phone the HTC One M9 is due for release this year with both improved software and hardware. With several leaks making their way onto the internet over the past weeks, most if not all the specifications and details of the smartphone have arisen as potentially final information. Now it seems that we may at last have some more solid evidence surrounding the handset before its official unveiling this March 1st at MWC 2015. Among the test results of GFXbench, a bench marking software for testing the capabilities of hardware, a listing specified as an “HTC One M9 has appeared. With a full specification sheet previous fans of the HTC One M7 or M8 will be sure to have their mouths watering in anticipatio.n
According to the device information of the bench mark result page, the HTC One M9 will be a truly top of the line flagship phone. While the screen clocks in at a modest 5 inches, it does support a resolution of 1080p. The panel will also most likely be comparable to, if not better than the HTC One M8’s beautifully crisp IPS display. Next up, the most significant component of the device, the processor is listed as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. The next generation of the Qualcomm Snapdragon series will boast eight processor cores with 64-bit architecture, and in this handset will clock in at 2.0GHz. To compliment this beast of a processor, 3 GB of RAM will be present guaranteeing excellent multitasking capabilities. This particular, tested device lists 32 GB of internal storage, but it will reportedly be able to expand a further 128 GB of capacity with a microSD card. Next up, the camera is listed as a whopping 20 megapixel sensor on the back with a 4 MP Ultrapixel camera on the front. As a previous owner of the HTC One M7, this camera upgrade will probably be the most welcome of them all. While the 4 Ultrapixel camera performs quite well under low light conditions, in brighter conditions, a higher megapixel camera was desired by many. Lastly, the device will ship running Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0 layered on top.
We are likely to see much more information regarding the HTC One M9 at the MWC this year, although these specifications are very likely to be final. Reports mentioning a possible HTC One M9 Plus model indicate this plus sized variant could be unveiled as well. If reports are correct the HTC One M9 Plus could feature a 5.2 inch display set at a 2560 x 1440 resolution. Hopefully the M9 Plus will also include a larger battery. Stay tuned for more information this Sunday.
