HTC is one of the big boys in the android manufacturing world. The Taiwanese company had made some serious inroads over the last couple of years with devices which have quickly become adopted as firm fan favorites. Take the HTC One M8 for instance, this follow-on from the HTC One M7 is definitely considered one of the best devices of last year and for good reason too. As well as being a decent spec device, the One M8 is solidly built. Unfortunately, for fans of the M8, we heard last week that HTC was running behind schedule in delivery Android 5.0 (Lollipop) to the M8 masses. This was apparently not for the lack of trying on HTC’s behalf, although evidence seems to be emerging that this was not the case.
In fact, it seems HTC have had their attention distracted as they recently produced and released a rap video. Yep, no typo. The Taiwanese giant have been busy laying the smack down in their newly released rap offering which goes by the name ‘Hold The Crown’ (see what they did there). The video stars Greg ‘Doc G’ Carr laying down the vocals and a random HTC employee laying down some epic failing moves. Not to mention, HTC were keen to lay some lyrics at the door of both Samsung and Apple, letting them both know that HTC is the king…and holds the crown. to give you a quick taster of the trash talking HTC threw down at Apple “Your phone was all glass, why you change your tune now? Your chip is slower, but you’ll never touch our BoomSound‘. Not to mention, they also throw out this one at Samsung “We own the Universe, your Galaxy is overrated“. So there you go, some straight up Gangsta talk from HTC, not to mention a few Peter Chou name-drops for good measure.
If you were feeling like this can’t be real, then join the club. However, the video is down below for you to check out for yourself. If you ever thought phrases like ‘Boom Sound’, ‘Duo Sensors’ and ‘Extreme Power Saver Mode’ could not be woven into a rap then think again. HTC not only have done it, but they do it well. Check out the video below and let us know what you think? In the words of Doc G “You don’t know who we be? We are HTC”.
