No, not LEGO. We’re talking about French telecom company Legos. They have announced a new MVNO running on Orange in France. They are bringing voice, SMS, data, the whole package to French customers. They already off “white label” telephony services and can now add mobile services to their product package. They have also announced that they are using Orange International Carriers for SS7 data and voice roaming in other countries. This allows for full roaming capabilities outside of France with any of Orange’s existing partners. Pascal Prot, CEO of Legos said: “We are delighted about this agreement with Orange, a project which has been in careful planning since 2014. Orange was the first operator to agree with our strategy to expand with full MVNO services. As a result, this deal means that Legos can offer our clients enhanced services and better quality in the mobile services market.”
Legos focuses on business customers, primarily. They were “the first fixed and mobile telephony operator offering its services exclusively in white label mode to local loop operators and voice integrators” in 2007. The company offers WiMAX, FTTH, and ADSL services and also provides SIP trunking to global integrators and other operators overseas. Up until now they have specialized in landline telephony services for large business and municipal clients. They are adding wireless services to their portfolio with this new MVNO on Orange. Pierre Louette, Orange’s Deputy CEO said, “We are happy that Legos has chosen Orange for the quality of its mobile radio access network in France, and in Roaming. Once again, this is a real recognition of the investments made by Orange to expand the coverage and meet the growing demand, especially in data.”
Legos didn’t provide us with any information on their plans, phones, or other services. If you’re not in France, this won’t matter much to you. Same thing goes for French customers that are looking for residential or consumer services. Legos works almost exclusively with businesses, corporations, and government entities. That’s their niche.
