LG Announces Its First Tablet On Sprint, G Pad F 7.0, Free For Existing Customers

With all the MWC 2015 hype making this the busiest time of the year for both Android lovers and Android device manufacturers alike, a lot of new devices have started making appearances. The latest comes from the house of LG, and it’s a tablet. The G Pad F 7.0, LG’s first tablet on Sprint has been announced to arrive on March 13, and it is going to be free of cost for existing Sprint customers on a two-year contract.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, and will have a 7-inch WXGA IPS display. The key features also mention that the tablet will have 1 GB of RAM, and will come with 8 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128 GB, via a MicroSD card. It will be backed by a 4000 mAh battery, and will sport a 5 MP rear-facing camera coupled with a 1.2 MP front-facing camera. On the software side, the tablet will be running on Android Lollipop 5.0, with LG’s UI on top, which, according to the description, will be a ‘visually pleasing user interface designed with flat icons that are grouped together for simple and smart navigation.’ Other software features include LG’s Knock Code lock pattern, Gesture Shot for the camera, which allows the user to click a picture from the front camera with the help of a timer which is activated by a hand gesture, SmartShare Beam, LG’s file sharing app based on Wi-Fi direct, and Dual Window, which allows the user to multitask by running two apps simultaneously in a split-screen interface. Almost all these software features have been previously seen in the LG G3.

Sprint also has a limited time offer for this tablet, with which, customers can get a bundle of the LG G Pad F 7.0 and an LG smartphone, for one price. The price is $90 per month for the LG G3 on lease, and the G Pad F 7.0 on Sprint Easy Pay, and $95 a month for the G Flex 2 bundle, where the phone can be purchased using Sprint Easy Pay, along with the G Pad F 7.0. Both the plans have zero down payment, and will equip the phones with unlimited data, talk and text while on the Sprint network, and the G Pad F 7.0 with 1 GB of data per month. The device will also be available for purchase with Sprint Easy Pay, independently, with zero down payment and finance fees at $10 a month for 24 months, totaling the price of the tablet to $240, excluding taxes. The device will be available in two colors, white and black. However, the black one won’t be arriving to stores before April 10. Will you be willing to buy this tablet? Tell us in the comments.
