Meizu wants to continue great results they were able to achieve in 2014 and even approve upon those results. The company has launched their first handset of the year on January 28, the Meizu M1. This device is the smaller version of Meizu’s M1 Note device, though a lower specced one as well. Despite somewhat lower specs than the M1 Note, this is still a great mid-range offering by this Chinese smartphone manufacturer, and it is priced unbelievably low. This thing costs 699 Yuan in China, and the device was said to be available for sale today.
The company fulfilled their promise and made the device available, the sale didn’t last long though, only 1 minute. Meizu was able to sell 100,000 units of the Meizu M1 handset within a minute in China, which only tells you how appealing this handset is to Chinese consumers. The company even said that they used an anti-fraud filter in order to make sure that the orders were real. I’m sure that Meizu will hold yet another flash sale in China in the coming weeks, as soon as they’re able to manufacture more units. There are tons of additional consumers which would like to get their hands on the device, the company received a ton of registrations for this flash sale.
The Meizu M1 sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 768) display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of in-built storage which you can expand via microSD card up to 128GB. This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6732 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and it ships with a 2,500mAh battery on the inside. 13-megapixel snapper is located on the back of this thing along with the LED flash, and a 5-megapixel shooter is available up front for all your selfie and video call needs. The M1 comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed and Flyme 4.2 UI on top of it, the newest version of Meizu’s very own Android skin. 4G LTE connectivity (Chinese bands) is also a part of this package, and the device is available in White, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink-Purple and Turquoise color options, just like its big brother, the M1 Note.
