Motorola Moto X (2014) Gets Dismantled

Motorola has recently introduced three new smartphones for the Chinese market, and by doing that, basically re-entered the Chinese market. It was obvious this way going to happen ever since Lenovo acquired Motorola Mobility from Google. Motorola has introduced the 2nd-gen Moto G and Moto X handset, along with the Moto X Pro phablet, which is essentially the Nexus 6, but it’s named differently in China. That being said, the Moto X is already on sale in China, and the Moto G and Moto X Pro will follow soon.

The IT168 site in China managed to get their hands on the Moto X, and they did what they usually do with devices, they cracked it open in order for us to see what exactly lies on the inside. We’ve included a bunch of Moto X teardown images in the gallery down below for you to look at in case you’d like to see what this device looks on the inside. You’ll also get a good look at basically every component that Motorola included in the Moto X smartphone. Speaking of which, let’s take a look at this handset’s specifications, shall we.

The Motorola Moto X (2014) features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16 or  32GB of non-expandable internal storage. This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz which comes with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of this device along with a dual-LED flash, while a 2-megapixel snapper is available on the front side of this handset. 2,300mAh non-removable battery ships with the Moto X, the phone measures 140.8 x 72.4 x 10mm and it weighs 144 grams. This device offers 4G LTE connectivity and ships with basically stock Android with a couple of Motorola apps on top of it.

In case you’re interested in getting a copy, the cheapest version of the device costs 2,999 Yuan ($480), while the most expensive variant will set you back 3,699 Yuan ($592). There are six versions available, 16 and 32GB versions with various back covers. The phone is available for purchase from one of China’s biggest retailers, the Jingdong Mall, and it is also available in various other markets all over the world, and has been for quite some time now.
