T-Mobile Rumored To Be Pushing Lollipop To Samsung Galaxy S5 This Week

Many users are still waiting for Android 5.0 Lollipop to show up on their devices officially, surprisingly though the Galaxy S5 is getting it sooner than we would have thought, as multiple variations of the handset have already started updating. The latest to be joining the ranks will allegedly be the T-Mobile model of the Galaxy S5 as it’s rumored to begin the update process to Lollipop this week. Not just this week mind you, but in just a couple of days on Feb 18th. If this pans out to be true then all of or most of the users on T-Mobile with Galaxy S5’s could be on the newest version of Android software by Sunday.

Android Lollipop has been rolling out to Sprint and Verizon Wireless Galaxy S5’s for nearly a week or more now, so we figured it couldn’t be long before T-Mobile started to push the update out too. Although we would have expected T-Mobile to be at the forefront here as they’re usually more open than other carriers when it comes to software updates. There will be some obvious changes once the software drops for users, like the lollipop style recents menu, the lockscreen notifications and the bolder vivid use of colors within Material Design.

From what we’ve already seen on the updates rolling out to Galaxy S5 users on the other carriers(save for AT&T because they always take forever with these updates and Galaxy S5 owners on their network are still waiting)the software package will be fairly large and the process for downloading and installing the update will take more than a few minutes most likely. With that being said, you should expect to leave the phone alone for anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes, and to be safe it never hurts to have over 75% battery life so your phone doesn’t die on you in the middle of the update. If you don’t begin to get this update starting Wednesday, don’t stress as it could take around a week or more to roll out across the network to all Galaxy S5 users on T-Mobile. Do you use a T-Mobile Galaxy S5? If so how do you like it?
