Acer Confirms 1080P Chromebook 15 To Be Available In "The Next Few Weeks"

Earlier this year during CES 2015 Acer pulled the curtains up on their upcoming new Chromebook model with a 15-inch display that comes with 1080p resolution, which also sports a 32GB storage drive internally. It also comes with 4GB of RAM just like the other new model Chromebook from Acer announced this morning, and it comes in at a greatly affordable cost of $350. That is of course for the higher end model, as Acer also offers a second model with the same size 15-inch display but with a lower 1366 x 768 resolution and a smaller $250 price tag and 2GB of RAM.

At the time with some of these new details being announced earlier about these two new Chromebook 15 models, there was no information about when to expect them to launch. We have now learned from Acer that both these new Chromebook models “will be available in the next few weeks” which puts it right in line with the Acer Chromebook 15 C910 that was announced just this morning. Both the $250 model and the $350 model will come with the standard fare when it comes to ports and connections, including USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, and HDMI out port, the 3.5mm audio port for headphones or earbuds, and an SD card slot for expandable storage and data/media transfers. So there you have it, if you were wondering when exactly you’d be able to upgrade to a new Chromebook, and were interested in what Acer showed off back in January, you’ll be able to grab either model in the next few weeks according to Acer. There was no mention of exactly which retailers to expect these two Chromebooks to be available from, but we’d imagine the usual suspects are included like Best Buy, Amazon, and a handful of other big name retailers both online and brick and mortar.
