Google Has Started Uploading Nexus Factory Images For Android 5.1 Lollipop

With all the news surrounding Android 5.1 Lollipop it can be hard to keep track of everything. A couple of new devices have started to receive updates to Android 5.1 Lollipop while Google and T-mobile have stated that Android 5.1 Lollipop is going to begin hitting certain Nexus devices today, following the official Announcement from Google that Android 5.1 Lollipop is here and what changes it will be bringing to users. While the OTA updates are well and good, some users may not want to wait for their devices to get the updates to the latest version of software over-the-air, and in this case the best course of action is to flash the Nexus factory images.

As of this moment Google has begun uploading the factory images for compatible Nexus devices to the developers blog page, but only for a few Nexus devices at this time, with more devices likely on their way as the day goes on or in the coming days as the week progresses. So far, the factory images are available for the 2012 WiFi only model of the Nexus 7 tablet, as well as the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 10 tablet. There is no word just yet on when the images will be available for the current Nexus smartphone and tablet, the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9, or for other past devices which include the 2013 WiFi only Nexus 7 and the Nexus 4, as well as LTE models of both Nexus 7 generations. We have posted the currently available Android 5.1 Lollipop factory images down below for anyone that is eager to get their hands on them and flash the images to their device, and we will continue to update this post as more factory images become available.
