Earlier this morning, we saw the HTC One E9 get certified in China by TENAA, and now we have reason to believe that it will be announced very soon. But it’s not the only device we might see tomorrow. HTC has sent out invitations that are for a conference or event that will likely unveil something rather grand for China, tomorrow March 11.
The invitations, which are apparently on metal, read (in Chinese, and if you have a better translation, feel free to let us know) “HTC Because you will be born for you 2015.3.11 – 3.17”. The date obviously means that something is happening then, although it is less clear what the “3.17” refers to. But what does seem likely is that the event’s subtitle (Because you will be born for you) likely refers directly to the device, or devices, that HTC plan to unveil and launch on that day / date. This could also be some sort of week of HTC festivities and news events to unveil multiple devices, though.
The HTC One E9, which we reported on earlier, seems a likely star of the event, since it is unlikely that it will get launched outside of Asian markets, or even outside of China. But, we might also be able to expect a variant of the HTC One M9, the Hima_Ultra, with its MediaTek processor, 5.5-inch display, and fingerprint scanner, as was rumored by @upleaks during Mobile World Congress last month. We heard from him that the Hima_Ultra, the One M9 Ultra, was originally going to have a U.S. and Asian release, with a Snapdragon and MediaTek variant, but then there were hints that the Chinese market would be a target for HTC in 2015, with the U.S. not getting a Hima_Ultra model. What does seem to be the case is that HTC is holding an event, and this one is going to be big for China, especially since The HTC One M9 didn’t launch in China (yet; that could change at the event tomorrow), Sense 7 and the M9 might get announced tomorrow as well as the E9. Anybody else really excited for HTC to show off this year, especially since they’re already off to a huge start with VR, wearables, and a great flagship? What do you think and hope that HTC unveils tomorrow at its event? Let us know down below.
