HTC has had its One line of phones for years, with the name simplification taking place in 2013 with the One M7. The Desire line of phones, the more budget-minded siblings to the One line, have existed for a few years as well. And the One E series has been around for just a shorter amount of time than the Desire lineup, bringing with it some different aesthetics and less ‘you better get this right, HTC’ attitude than the One line. A few days ago, we let you know about some leaked photos of what was rumored to be an addition to the E family of One devices, but many dispelled it since the lens on the back looked ridiculously large and photoshopped off of a Nexus 5. And a few days before that, we shared some rumored specifications from @upleaks of a device whose development name was ‘A55’. Well, we have another leak to add to the running list for this ‘One E9’, and that’s a rather supportive to the visuals of it thanks to China’s certification service, TENAA.
The HTC One E9, as we let you know about a week ago, will supposedly feature a MediaTek 6795, an octa-core 64-bit beast, paired with 3 gigabytes of RAM. The device, now according to TENAA, will feature a 5.5-inch display at a supposedly QuadHD resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, twice that of the flagship One M9 from Mobile World Congress. The phone, also according to TENAA, has a 2800 mAh battery and dual-SIM connectivity, as @upleaks thought it might. We don’t yet have confirmation of the camera modules, but we have some speculations on them for sure.
According to @upleaks, who has had a reliable streak lately, the One E9 will feature the same 20 megapixel back-facing camera, with an obviously much larger presence on the device, as well as a 13- or possibly 4-megapixel front-facing lens, depending on which the manufacturer chooses to go with, or, if @upleaks is right, HTC decides to offer a higher-end and a lower-end model with the higher having the 4 Ultrapixel camera and the lower having the 13 megapixel. What we can say for sure though, is that the device will likely be contained to Asia, and will also have the now-expected 32 gigabytes of internal storage, as well as Android 5.0 Lollipop and Sense 7. The A55 / One E9 will also reportedly come in the same colors as the One M9, with the gold-on-silver being shown below, with a gunmetal as well as a silver coloration coming at the time of launch. Until then, we know how big it will be, the processor, the display specifications, the camera setup(s), as well as the battery and special dual-SIM capability. What else do you think this phone has in store before it launches? What do you hope it packs inside, and would you want to see it come out of Asia for more global availability? What do you think of that rather comical-looking camera lens on the back of the One E9? Let us know down below.
