HTC's Upcoming One E9 Handset Real-Life Images Surface

We’ve been dealing with HTC One M9 rumors and leaks for a long time. The company has finally announced that handset at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this month and put an end to the rumors. Well, as soon as the device launched, new HTC-related rumors started coming in, referring to the HTC One M9+ and the One E9. We’re here to talk about the latter, which got certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) earlier this month, and we’ve seen its leaked renders yesterday.

Well, a new leak came our way today, showing us the device wrapped in a plastic case. This leak comes straight from China, and despite the see-through case, you can get a really good look at the handset. We still don’t know which materials will HTC use in order to build this device, yesterday’s renders suggested that the back side will be made out of plastic, but the front side might be made out of metal, at least that’s what it looks like in the provided images. We cannot confirm this at this point though, of course. You get a nice look at the device’s camera, flash and the BoomSound speakers thanks to these images.

As already mentioned, this handset got certified by TENAA earlier this month, which means we have the majority of its specifications to share with you. The One E9 will sports a 5.5-inch QuadHD (2560 x 1440) display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6795 64-bit octa-core CPU clocked at 2.2GHz will power on this handset, and a 2,800mAh battery will make sure you don’t run out of juice ahead of time. 20-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this device, flanked by an LED flash. Regarding the front-facing shooter, it is still unknown whether HTC will otp to include the 13-megapixel snapper or a 4MP UltraPixel camera like on the HTC One M9. Android 5.0 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with HTC’s Sense 7 UI on top of it. There you have it, the One E9 is expected to launch in China later this month.
