Many of us were expecting two phones from HTC’s press event in Barcelona – this time last week. But instead we got the HTC One M9, the HTC Grip, and the HTC Vive. All of which are amazing products. But since that press conference, we’ve seen a ton of leaks for the larger HTC One M9 that we had heard about weeks ago. Some of the pictures do look very photoshopped, like this one. Looks a lot like the Nexus 5 camera plastered into the middle of the phone.
HTC America’s President, Jason Mackenzie has since teased that HTC has another announcement coming up this month. A report that was published this weekend quotes Mackenzie as stating, “When I look at the flagship [the M9], I see we’re building the most premium device. But I can’t stop there. We have a huge announcement in middle to late March around extreme differentiation between Samsung and the iPhone. It solves key pain points.”
So what could that be? Is it just a bigger HTC One M9, more of a phablet version? Or is it a totally new smartphone? Maybe it’s just a more premium version of the HTC One M9, however, I’m not quite sure what could be more premium. We’re looking at a Snapdragon 810 processor in the HTC One M9, along with 32GB of storage and a 20MP camera. Maybe increase the display from 1080p to Quad HD? Although many are perfectly happy with a 1080p display, so it’s really difficult to say what HTC might be announcing. But whatever it is, you can count on Android Headlines to bring you all the info on this new product.
HTC has normally released a smaller version of their One, and last year they did a cheaper version with the E8, which we did see leak a few days ago. So we could possibly see the HTC One Mini 3 (I really hope we don’t get that name though), or a HTC One E9. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments down below.
