Meizu is one of the other top smartphone brands in China, and more recently they have started to offer some of their devices outside of the Chinese market through their international online store. The newest device to join the ranks on the international site looks to be the M1 Note phablet they originally unveiled last year, although Meizu doesn’t state if the model they’ll be selling outside of China will be the original model or the one they re-introduced at the beginning of 2015 with a new process on the inside. At current, the Meizu online international store only sells the Meizu MX3, the Meizu MX4, and the Meizu MX4 Pro.
Although Meizu hasn’t officially mentioned or detailed which model they’ll be selling to international consumers, the rest of the specs aren’t changing and are already out there so the hardware specifications other than the processor won’t be a mystery. It sports a 5.5-inch FHD display which carries 1080p resolution, a 13MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash, a 5MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage although no room for expandable storage with a microSD card slot, and it’s powered by a 3,140mAh battery to keep things going throughout the day and then some.
Meizu’s M1 Note comes running on its own in-house Flyme 4.0 OS which is based on Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat, just like its other recently launched devices the Meizu MX4 and Meizu MX4 Pro, both of which we reviewed and can be checked out at the links above. If you’re interested in buying the M1 Note and want to kill some time while you wait for Meizu to either launch this on their online store or announce the pricing for international buyers, you can consider the currency conversion of the Chinese pricing which was roughly around $160, although it isn’t known whether or not that will be the price for here in the states. The M1 Note seems to give some pretty decent specs for a fairly low cost, so if this on your radar we’d suggest bookmarking the Meizu store website.
