Google is updating the Play Store again and there’s much that users will likely notice including some visual changes and a few functional tweaks that will likely come in handy. This bumps the Play Store up to version 5.3.5 and has started rolling out as of now, although not everyone will have the update immediately, and in that case we have the updated apk down below if you wish to download it instead of waiting for it to hit your device on its own. Visually users will notice some subtle changes like the landscape view for certain content. Prior to this update the panels with the content description used to go from edge to edge, and with the update the panel is now shorter and cuts off away from the sides a little bit.
This isn’t the only new visual touch though. Goggle has also altered the action bar up top a little bit. Prior to this update the action bar would always be there, and would shift from a banner image of the app you were looking at to a green bar with the name of the app listed in it. Now after the update the action bar hides itself after you scroll to a certain point down the app’s page, and will then pop back up when you begin scrolling back up again and reach the point where it auto-hides.
As far as visual changes go, that seems to be it with this latest update to the app. This is where the functional tweaks come in. Users will now have a little more option with the notification settings, and can choose to have notifications come in for when apps are available for update and if notifications come in at all if an app has already auto updated. This isn’t a ton more control but it is probably just enough as some will likely feel there’s no reason to get a notification about an app that has updated already on its own. In addition, users now will be able to update an app or update all apps if there are multiple app updates available, straight from the update notification that comes in, which should make things more convenient. Users now also have to exit the “read more” section on an app page by either hitting the back button on the navigation bar or by hitting the x button up at the top of the screen. The update should be going live now for some users, if you aren’t keen on waiting you can download the apk through the link.
