No. 1 is a Chinese manufacturer who’s been up and coming over the past year. They’ve launched a whole slew of devices in 2014 and don’t show any signs of slowing down in 2015, offering lots of options and great specs for not a lot of money. We’ve been able to review a handful of their devices over the past few months as well, but the most recent one might just be our favorite of the crop. The No. 1 X-Men X1 was the company’s first rugged phone, which was followed up quickly by the slightly higher priced but larger and higher-specced X-Men X2. Both of these phones ship with Android 4.4 KitKat and larger than 5-inch screens, but what about those that aren’t looking for such a large phone?
No. 1 has the answer for you today with their newly revealed No. 1 M2, a phone with a short name and probably an even shorter price. Sporting the same rugged looks with a few tweaks here and there to the style from the X-Men series of phones, the M2 sets itself apart from No. 1’s other two rugged phones with its smaller 4.5-inch screen. As was the case with No. 1’s previous devices they haven’t revealed all the specs just yet, so while we don’t know the resolution of the display for the M2 we’re counting on a qHD or 720p display given the size. The No. 1 X-Men X2 was powered by the latest Qualcomm 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor so we’re expecting something similar in this one as well. The biggest treat of all might be that it runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, making this the first rugged device on the market to run Lollipop.
The hardware itself is going to be just as durable as we’ve seen in the past from No. 1 including IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. No. 1 is also saying the device is scratchproof and we’re hoping it lives up to the X-Men phones’ shockproof, freeze proof, heat proof and pressure proof. Lastly you’ll notice that the capacitive buttons below the screen look like proper recents, home and back buttons instead of other button configurations we’ve seen out of many Chinese phones lately. This is shaping up to be another exciting device from No. 1, and of course when we get more info we’ll be sure to share it with you, but for now check out the gallery below for all the shots provided by No. 1.
