Samsung Mobile has published a pair of videos on YouTube showcasing their newest smartphones the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that were announced today at a media event. The media even comes a day before the official start of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The pair of videos showcases the finer features of both devices in a brilliant and artistic way. The make you just want to reach into your screen and take the phone into your hands so that you can truly appreciate its beauty.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge both sport a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution that comes in at around 577 ppi pixel density with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge receiving a curved display that takes the screen over the side edges of the phone. The videos take special note of the Galaxy S6’s stunning 16 mega-pixel camera and the description of the first video goes on to state in detail about the Galaxy’s fast camera which can be launched from any screen by pressing the home button twice in just less than 0.7 seconds. It also has Optical Image Stabilization with IR Detect White Balance for light sensitivity. It also has Auto Real-time High Dynamic Range or HDR, which is a fist in the smartphone industry. The video also mentions the Samsung Galaxy’s rapid charging features, which will allow for four hours of battery time on just ten minutes of charge time. The phone also sports the industry’s first 14nm mobile processor which is 64-bit. This is Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 Octa-core processor which is also paired with a Mali T760 GPU. Add in 3GB of LPDDR4 Ram up to 128GB of storage, and this device is as powerful as it is beautiful. All of this comes with an all metal and glass design. The glass is none other than gorilla glass 4.
The second video focuses on Samsung’s design story for the Samsung Galaxy S6. It points out the phones craftsmanship focusing on the curved metal and glass design. They also point out the craftsmanship of the curved glass on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The video spots are a nice cap to an exciting day for Samsung. It shows that Samsung still has fight and innovation left in them despite a decline in sales in 2014. If their phones perform as well as they should, these could help pull Samsung back up to the top. We will have to wait and see if elegant videos and media events support the performance of these phones and also if consumers are willing to pay the premium price for these beautiful phones. We will not have long to wait for customer reactions, as these devices will be hitting stores on April 10th, and some carriers have already begun to announce their pre-order schedule.
